For today’s TroubleNation Tuesday we are taking a look back at an interview the Suburban Women Problem podcast did with Carrie Knapp, one of the leaders of NOVA Blue Squad.
NOVA Blue Squad was founded in the spring of 2024, and today has 400+ members! They are located in northern Virginia, in the DC metro area. The women of NOVA Blue Squad work hard to unite passionate, badass individuals across their communities to protect democracy at the local, state and national levels. They focus on getting out the vote in every election, and with some big elections coming up in Virginia this fall, they will be hard at work all year long.
Carrie shares such a great reminder to not underestimate what talents we can each bring to a volunteer environment. After a traumatic brain injury, Carrie used to doubt herself, but in her work with NOVA Blue Squad she has realized that she has a lot to offer. And so do you! This is a story we hear so often from volunteers, especially from women. But remember, each of us has talents and strengths and when we all come together we are truly unstoppable.
