Rogues on the Rocks

Making good trouble with a twist
2
8

Rishelle started her TroubleNation group Rogues on the Rocks by inviting 12 friends who, like her, were fed up with the political climate. What began as a chat quickly turned into action: a mission to stand up to right-wing extremism and create a welcoming space for others feeling frustrated or alone.

Since late February, they’ve been busy in their Skagit County, WA community — hosting meetings and get-togethers, waving signs at Planned Parenthood, joining marches and even organizing some of their own. And in addition to all of the important political work they’re doing, they’re building community and having fun!

They joined their local No Kings protest last weekend, helping the organizers with traffic safety and de-escalation. With an estimated crowd of 3000 people, Rishelle says it was the biggest protest in her county’s history!

Rogues on the Rocks also went to a community housing center where seasonal farm workers and their families live to share their support with a “love your neighbors” chalk campaign. Rishelle says she’s so proud of this group of kind, hard-working humans who want to make their country and world a better place.
