Across the country, Trump voters — especially women — are seeing what’s happening in Minneapolis and having second thoughts.
It’s so tempting to shame them. To say, “You voted for this! This is your fault!” But we won’t get out of this without the help of everyone.
So as hard as it is, when you hear someone in your life expressing doubts or even stating outright that they’re leaving MAGA, welcome them. Don’t shame them. Bring them into the work, because there is so much work to do.
That’s not to say that people shouldn’t be held accountable. But getting them on board right away to help repair some of the harm isn’t just the right thing to do — it’s strategic.
