Feeding Kids in Virginia

A TroubleNation group held an inspiring event this week
2

We love the name of Jess Schaer’s TroubleNation group in Virginia: PWC Women that Wine. But what we love even more is the work they’re doing! This past Sunday, Jess helped organize a food drive event to support families facing food insecurity in her community. Needless to say, the event was a huge success.

They raised more than $5,000 for local food banks and collected 2,300 pounds of food, all of which will go directly to families in need across Prince William County. Local leaders and elected officials also joined the event to show their support, like State Sen. Danica Roem, U.S. Rep. Suhas Subramanyam, and Michelle Davis-Younger, the mayor of Manassas.

Jess and her group nailed this week’s theme for our #RWBSummerOfAction: caring for each other. Whether it’s sharing resources, lending a hand, or just checking in on a friend, small acts of care matter.

The PWC Hunger Free Campaign proves that when we come together, we can make a real difference and work toward a future where no family goes hungry.
