Boundaries, Boundaries, Boundaries

If we're overwhelmed, we can't fight back

Setting personal boundaries has always been important, but this year it’s more important than ever. “Everything Everywhere All At Once” was a great movie but it is not a great personal goal for 2025!

Women often feel like we need to be everything to everyone all the time — the best mom, spouse, neighbor, worker, daughter, friend, PTA parent, citizen, gym queen, social media maven, housekeeper, chef, and more. Balance? Boundaries? There’s no time for that!

But our guest on the pod this week, North Carolina organizer Torrie, reminded us that in stressful times like these, boundaries are not optional. They are absolutely necessary to maintaining our mental and physical health. When we show up for ourselves, we can better show up for the people in our lives.

It’s not about tuning out. It’s about focusing in. Our families, communities, and democracy depend on it.
