Need a pick-me-up? Senator Chris Murphy Held a Mini Town Hall at a Local Elementary School to Hear Kids’ Ideas
For the ninth year in a row, Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy walked across the state, stopping at local businesses and talking with whoever he met. Most days, he covered between 15 and 18 miles.

Why? To meet and build a genuine connection with the people he represents.
“Every single day I’ll talk to dozens if not 100 or so people, and by the end of the week I have a really good sense of what the state cares about,” said. Sen. Murphy.
That includes some of Murphy’s youngest constituents.
As he passed by Sharon Center School, students lined up outside to meet him, and they came prepared with their own ideas for legislation: more protection for endangered whales, lower food prices, and asking people to be kinder.
I don’t know about you, but those are some policy ideas I could get behind.
Ask your kids what legislation they'd like to see and drop it in the comments!
