TroubleNation Tuesday

Introducing PWC Women Who Wine

This past week we joined a brand new TroubleNation group at one of their first events. PWC Women Who Wine held an event to support federal employees in Prince William County, Virginia. They created 500 bags filled with a snack, a water bottle, a hand written note of support, and a flier with resources for federal employees. Then they went to a rail station before the 5:15am morning commuter train arrived — armed with their gift bags and signs of support for federal workers.

Several members of the group shared how they felt compelled to take action these past few weeks. Some members were retired federal employees, or had close friends or spouses who were federal employees. They all shared that they knew they had to do something to let federal workers know that the community sees what they are going through and supports them during these tough times. And after hearing more stories from the workers they met last week, they are committed to creating more events to support federal employees.

PWC Women Who Wine started just twelve days before this event. Since their initial meeting they have attended a school board meeting, met up to put together their gift bags, and spent hours at a local train station supporting federal employees. And they are already busy planning their next action. To say they hit the ground running would be an understatement. This group is fired up and ready to go.
