It was the chants, the flags, the emotion on the faces of all in the crowd, the exuberance and the unabashed joy. I felt it jump through the TV. I loved watching the Walz family and Kamala’s family. I loved all the speakers and seeing the Obamas again. Kamala’s speech was the icing on the cake. She nailed it. But most of all, for this 73 year old woman the thought of having a woman as President (and she WILL win) is overwhelmingly emotional. It’s about damn time!!

It's significant that the DNC outright denied the request to grant a speaking slot to a Palestinian American. We are facilitating a war grounded in religious nationalism that led the DNC to expressly discriminate and further marginalize a vulnerable ethnic, religious minority population.

The sense that the differences on this matter were chalked up to "we have bigger issues to deal with and need to be united (not dissenting) --- is very similar to a church or denomination suppressing dissent regarding abuse for the larger goal. more care about the aesthetic of inclusivity and compassion than the real deal.
