For years, RFK Jr. and the Trump administration have been spreading vaccine disinformation – and it’s having deadly consequences.
Two unvaccinated people in Pennsylvania, including an infant, have died from measles-associated complications, the first fatal cases seen in the commonwealth in 35 years.
These deaths occurred in Lancaster, the same county that RFK spoke to in 2021, when he told a group of event attendees that treatment for measles only requires chicken soup and vitamin A.
(Medical experts and public health agencies agree that there is no cure for measles.)
By spreading health disinformation and anti-vax sentiments, RFK Jr. and the Trump administration are putting families and children at risk for their own political gain.
Nearly 2,800 measles cases have been reported nationwide this year, the highest in decades. According to the CDC, 93% were among people who were unvaccinated or had an unknown vaccination status.
