Every day, we see more evidence that public opinion is turning against the Trump administration. It’s in protests, polls, and approval ratings, and now we’re seeing it in election results too.
The Wisconsin State Supreme Court race last month was such an important moment, when a judge backed by Trump and Elon Musk lost to a progressive. Before that, in March, a Democrat won an important State Senate seat in Pennsylvania. And in Omaha this week, John Ewing Jr. made history as the city’s first Black mayor — ousting the Republican mayor who had been in office since 2013.
There are so many opportunities like this across the country this year. Did you know that there are over 100,000 seats open for election in 2025? That’s way more than there were in 2024. Of course federal races are important, but local leaders have a lot of power over our day-to-day lives. And as we’ve been seeing across the country, we also have a lot more power to get them elected.
We have so many more opportunities this year, so let’s keep this momentum going. When they go low, we go local!
Way to go Omaha
