I love our history & anyone helping to teach others why our great nation is so vastly different from any other. My only point of contention seems to be how easily folks throw out the word “democracy” referring to our form of government - our founding fathers took great pains to ensure we would not fall into a “democracy”. People ask what difference does it make? Or rewrite current definitions to say our constitutional republic is “a form of democracy” or “it’s just a word”. Words matter & by controlling the language, they attempt to sway opinions away from the truth.
Let’s call this Friday our #OriginalIndependenceDay. The day recognized as pivotal in the overthrow of Trump’s #RepubloFascism should be considered our #2ndIndependenceDay. Might that heralded day be when we flip the House in the next couple of weeks with the #MAGAMurderBill the first victim of new Democratic House leadership?
