On Saturday, ICE agents brutally murdered a 37-year-old VA nurse in the streets of Minneapolis.
Nurse Alex Pretti, whose family remembers him as a “kind-hearted soul,” was filming an ICE raid when he saw an agent knock down a woman in the street. He moved to protect her, and then multiple videos show ICE agents pepper-spraying him, beating him, and then shooting him multiple times.
We created Moms for Good after the senseless death of Renee Nicole Good at the hands of an ICE agent as a way for ALL of us (no matter whether we’re moms, grandmas, aunties, or allies) to take our anger and turn it into action and to demand accountability when ICE commits violence.
Even after Renee’s death and the public outrage that followed, the House of Representatives still passed a bill to fully fund ICE, with none of the guardrails the public has demanded.
We have a small window of opportunity to stop the Senate from voting the Department of Homeland Security budget – including billions of dollars for ICE – into law.
