MAGA Keeps Losing Elections
26 and counting...
Since Trump’s return to the White House, Democrats have gained a total of 26 legislative seats: 8 Republican-controlled districts through special elections, and an additional 18 seats in New Jersey and Virginia last November.
Meanwhile, Republicans have failed to pick up any legislative seats.
Most recently, Democrat Chasity Martinez defeated Republican Brad Daigle 62-38 in rural Louisiana, despite being outspent 3-to-1 in their campaigns. Her win was a 37-point swing from the 2024 presidential results.
And earlier this month, Democrat Taylor Rehmet, a union machinist and U.S. Air Force veteran, won a special election for the Texas state senate against a Republican candidate that Trump called “a true MAGA Warrior.” Even more amazing, this happened in a conservative district that Trump won in 2024 by 17 percentage points.
His opponent called it "a wake-up call" for the midterm elections, but honestly, we don’t see MAGA waking up any time soon.
Here at Red Wine & Blue, we are all about community organizing and local wins, but these state-level races are giving us a lot of hope, too. Things have been dark this year, but we’re starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel.
Let’s keep it going!

Yippee!
