I came to listen to my friend Lily, but I loved listening to your intro-chat, Katy & LaFonda.
It's so good to hear from you, your community spirit and empathy, and how you've navigated your grief. You've such a big heart. I'm so glad the community is there to support you and each other; mutual aid is so important. Some really great practical ideas to start helping! This is so inspiring and beautiful, Lily. xo
Thank you for listening, Victoria! I also really enjoyed the intro chat with Katy and LaFonda and appreciate so much how they weave together stories that promote and uplift women's powerful connections. It's been such a pleasure to take part in this conversation and share with the audience what I have learned. ❤️
Liza, thank you for being here and for listening in. I feel a kinship with you as you've been practicing compassion throughout your developmental career. Happy to connect with you too.
Lily has been my dear friend for over 25 years and so everything she shares here is what I’ve come to know & love about my friend: her generosity and humanity and kindness towards her neighbors and community — the qualities and the opportunity that live within us all — is so inspiring to me! And no doubt to
Hi Amy, thanks so much for tuning in and for your testimonial. You're so on point to say that these qualities and opportunities live in all of us. And it may be a "blessing in disguise" when things get so very bad in our world today--such conditions may just be that catalyst of what spurs people to rise up collectively and surround one another with the love, care and respect that we all need and deserve.
It is a beautiful story of kindness, compassion and what it means to share humanity with respect and dignity. I am so glad you, Lily, found this kind of refugium where you are able to give and also receive in so many ways.
Thank you for tuning in, Jay! Dignity and respect are indeed the guiding principles of mutual aid. My heart is full being able to take part in the ongoing mutual aid exchanges in my local community. Truly a godsend! ❤️
Thank you for tuning in! What you said about genuine connections and safety nets is right on! I think that when individuals are personally in touch with the community members they help through mutual aid, they weave the broken social fabric back together in a more cohesive and dignified way.
